NSQM is the service which monitors availability and response delays of HTTP, FTP, DNS, mail services also performs IPTV Service monitoring (Bitrate and zapping time calculations).

IPTV module is deployed as a separate module to NSQM service. In an IPTV test, probe sends an IGMP JOIN message to get multicast video stream and measures the bitrate value of received RTP traffic. Additionally, the service performs zapping tests between two multicast streams and calculates the time period needed to change channel. If the system detects any problem with the execution scenarios, system generates an alarm and informs the authorized staff in organization in different ways like displaying alarms on dashboard screen and sending an email notification or SNMP trap message to existing network management system.
